16 Dec Warmboard Radiant Heat
The first phase of the radiant floor system has been installed even before the walls of the Shevlin House. Warmboard® is a radiant heat application that incorporates a thick aluminum surface with PEX tubes installed into pre-routed channels. The aluminum surface is part of the sub-floor; the PEX tubing will be installed later in the construction process.
The clients and their designer, Gary Holbrook of HD Architecture, selected Warmboard® as the system for their in-floor, radiant heating. Wanting to avoid the dust, allergens blown by forced hot air systems, the clients were also looking for a heating system that would quietly and efficiently keep their home warm.
